Biography
Despite coming from humble beginnings with an abusive father, divorced parents, a household surviving on a single mother’s pension barely sustaining five kids and losing her mother to cancer at 17, Elle refused to let adversity define her. Growing up in optimistic 80s Australia, she found escape in feel-good entertainment, envisioning a life of infinite possibilities.
Believing that out of something bad always comes something good, Elle was resourceful and enthusiastic, excelling in various roles across the screen industry, government and creative industries, from distribution of iconic movies (The Silence of the Lambs, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Strictly Ballroom) and games (SEGA and Electronic Arts); to securing movies and TV series productions to Queensland (including Inspector Gadget 2, The Thin Red Line, Peter Pan and Scooby Doo). She was a VFX & post-production executive producer (for films such as Hacksaw Ridge, The Age of Adaline, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Thor: Ragnarok, Aquaman, Kong vs Godzilla), and business development manager and consultant.
As a successful screen industry executive, consultant and leader with 30-plus years of experience, Elle transitioned from senior roles in sales and marketing; business development; VFX and post-production; and distribution to becoming a respected writer, producer and entrepreneur.
As a writer and producer, Elle is inspired to develop popular, feel-good IP franchises that captivate mass niche audiences with universal, positive and benevolent storytelling with happy endings.
As Chief Vision Officer/Co-Founder/Producer of Mixing It Up (MIU), Elle collaborates with a talented team, including the creator of the High School Musical franchise, an Emmy award-winning music supervisor, and Kpop producers and composers with credits including BTS and BlackPink, and MIU’s advisory board comprises award-winning entertainment, business, and finance professionals.
Elle is the author of the Better Now Than Never book series and The Sentimental Blonde. Elle has received prestigious awards such as the Lord Mayor’s Creative Fellowship and the Queensland Writers Centre Fishbowl Writers Residency.
Her entrepreneurial spirit and business legacy extend beyond feel-good entertainment to include a wellness focus. After experiencing family and friends suffer various cancers and health issues, Elle is committed to making the world a healthier place, focusing on longevity, prevention and women’s health. Elle actively seeks opportunities that align with her vision of fostering holistic wellbeing in body, mind and spirit.
Inspired by her role on the board of a non-profit that raises funds for homeless women and their children, influenced by memories of her mother’s need for charitable assistance, and motivated by her own conscious uncoupling at age 51, Elle is committed to establishing a foundation to support women over 50 and contribute to affordable housing for Australia’s fastest-growing demographic of homelessness.
